The Powell River Recreation Centre boasts a full compliment of health & fitness options for the mind, body and spirit. Our line up of programs and equipment combined with our certified instructors, will assist you in your goals of becoming a more healthier and active YOU! Our goal is to help Powell River become one of the healthiest and most active communities in BC.

Weight Room

Whether you a are a beginner or looking for a challenging work out, our weight room has you covered. Thanks to the Powell River Community Forest, in 2017 we installed a complete new line of selectorizer and strength equipment that now provides for an even greater workout with many new exercise options available.   Regular admission rates apply.

  • Winter  Gym Schedule
    • Monday – Friday from 6:00am – 2:15pm & 3:15 – 9:00pm
      • The gym is closed from 2:15 – 3:15pm Monday – Friday
    • Saturdays & Sundays from 8:00am – 8:30pm

Rules & Etiquette

  • Please be respectful of all patrons using the facility. Aggressive or threatening behaviors will not be permitted.
  • Report any incidents or equipment failure to Reception immediately.
  • Athletic tops and bottoms and clean, close-toes shoes must be worn at all times.
  • All bags must be stored inside cubbies.
  • Please use collars on barbells when in use and always use a spotter for heavy presses.
  • Do not slam weights down or drop weights on the floor.
  • Replace all weight plates on their stand after use.
  • Clean equipment after use. Spray onto a paper towel and use the towel to wipe down the equipment.

Youth between the ages of 13 – 14 years are required to have adult supervision during training.

Our drop-in group fitness programs allow you the opportunity to choose the class that best suits you. With such a wide variety of programs to choose from, our certified instructors will put you through the movements in a safe, friendly, and fun environment. Regular admission rates apply.*
