Sports Fields

The City of Powell River provides outdoor sport field facilities for use by members of the public as well as organized groups. These well-maintained fields are great for recreational as well as competitive use and include everything from fenced baseball diamonds to soccer fields with breathtaking views that overlook the Salish Sea.

DA Evans Park

Situated in Cranberry, DA Evans Park is one of Powell River’s premier year-round baseball parks. It plays host to Minor Baseball and provides a great setting for a summer’s evening at the ball Diamond. This park also features a children’s playground area and bleachers for spectator viewing.

Larry Gouthro Park

Located in central Westview, Larry Gouthro is a multi use sports field that can accommodate both soccer and baseball throughout the year. From September – March, Larry Gouthro becomes home to Powell River Youth Soccer and features 3 Super 8 Sized fields. From April – August , parks crews convert the field of play to baseball, creating 3 playing surfaces, one which features a fully enclosed fence.

Timberlane Track

Nestled high above Townsite, Timberlane Track offers some of the most stunning views of the coast while providing some first-class amenities for field user groups. Home to the Villa Soccer Club, this full-sized soccer pitch plays host to cup games throughout the year and offers a full 400-meter track for walking and running enthusiasts.

Sunset Park

Located in Wildwood, Sunset Park offers year-round play for both soccer and baseball. The upper and lower fields each have a full-size soccer pitch from September – April and from May – August, the fields are converted to accommodate slo-pitch. This has become the home of the Adult Co-Ed Recreational Slo-Pitch League and hosts several large-scale tournaments throughout the summer months.

JP Dallos Field

In the heart of the City, JP Dallos Field provides multi use play throughout the year for both soccer and baseball. During the soccer season, three small sized fields are created while during the spring/summer months it features 2 baseball diamond for minor baseball use.

Townsite Tennis Courts

Situated in Townsite, these are Powell River’s only public and year-round open tennis courts. No reservations required – first come, first served!

Cranberry Field

Located on the grounds of the old Cranberry School, this field plays home to the local Otaga Rugby Club during the fall/winter and converts into two baseball diamonds during the spring/summer to accommodate slo-pitch games and tournaments.
